Fibre Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Fibre Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, hauling, splicing, testing and maintaining fibre optic networks across South Australia.
* Haul install splice terminate and test fibre optic cables in accordance with industry standards.
* Install PCD/BTD and build BJL FJL and DJL.
* Conduct fault-finding troubleshooting and repairs on fibre networks including site integration.
* Perform OTDR power meter and light source testing recording accurate results.
* Complete jointing and termination works within pits manholes cabinets and customer premises.
* Liaise with supervisors project managers and clients to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Requirements
* Experience as a Fibre Technician in NBN or telecommunications networks.
* Proficiency in fibre splicing termination and testing OTDR power meter etc.
* Understanding of NBN standards network designs and industry work practices.
* White Card Construction Induction mandatory.
* Relevant fibre or NBN accreditations.
* Traffic Control ticket.
* First Aid/CPR certification.
