Achieve Something Great
Join our busy Level 5 maternity service at Campbelltown Hospital, supporting approximately 3,800 births each year, as a Clinical Midwife Specialist Grade 2. In this vital after hours role you will provide safe, compassionate and person‐centred specialist midwifery care, offering after‐hours clinical expertise and leadership across the Postnatal Ward, Antenatal Ward and Birthing Unit. You will work collaboratively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‐quality outcomes while guiding and supporting less experienced staff.
* Provide specialist midwifery leadership during afternoon and after‐hours shifts
* Support less experienced midwives across the Postnatal Ward, Antenatal Ward and Birthing Unit
* Assess unit acuity, staffing needs and skill mix to prioritise workload
* Deliver safe, evidence‐based and women‐centred midwifery care
* Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve patient‐centred goals
Are You the Right Fit?
You'll excel in this role if you are a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to women‐centred care. You bring advanced midwifery skills, broad clinical experience across maternity settings and the confidence to provide leadership and guidance while working within a 7‐day roster that includes afternoons and weekend shifts.
* Advanced midwifery skills including Cooks catheter insertion, suturing, speculum use and cervical ripening
* Relevant experience across multiple maternity settings
* Strong communicator with a collaborative, supportive approach
* Ability to work afternoon shifts and weekend day/evening shifts within a 7‐day roster
* Ability to work within a job‐share arrangement contributing to a total of 1.5 FTE
Selection Criteria

* Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant post‐registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of the employees specified post‐graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD
