Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) is a Community Controlled Organisation and provides a range of services for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people living within the Ovens Murray region.
About the role
Strategic Leadership
· Work with the Board and Executive to review and implement the Strategic Plan
· In conjunction with the Executive team, operationalize the strategic plan
· Ensure Community member priorities are met within the overall agreed strategy and business plans
· Build awareness and influences in the community, government, business and other bodies with a view to improving services to members
Stakeholder Engagement
· Manage external stakeholder expectations, including community members, governance, funding and government bodies.
· Foster and maintain partnerships and alliances with local business and the broader community
Organisational Management
· Oversee the effective management of finances and assets, including compliance with legal obligations in relation to the delivery of program
· Lead and contribute to the development and ongoing business sustainability of MAC
· Oversight of MAC’s Quality Management framework and model behaviours for ISO9001 Re-Certification
· Lead MAC’s communication strategy internally and externally
· Working with the Board, oversight and management of MAC’s risk management framework
Governance
· Develop and maintain strong, professional and effective working relationships with the MAC Board
· Keep MAC Board informed on the position of services, finances, management issues and all matters having real or potential risk to the organisation through reporting systems
· Demonstrate strong, personal leadership and accountability by displaying a positive example and providing a framework for achievement of objectives and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
· Ensure effective performance management, assessment and development of the Executive team against individual workplans and performance development and reviews
Key Working Relationships
· Internal MAC Management and employees.
· Community members and families.
· Other Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation staff.
· Stakeholders, funding agencies and/or service providers.
Skills and Experience
· Qualifications in Community Services, Management (or relevant qualifications) are preferred and/or extensive community sector management experience
· Knowledge of the community services sector and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, with leadership experience in managing large teams
· Expertise in the health and wellbeing challenges for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
· Experience in developing, securing and managing funding and partnerships, including tenders, submissions, and contract negotiations
· Experience in implementing and establishing social, emotional, educational programs that deliver high-quality services with positive outcomes
· Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven expertise in staff leadership and management
· Highly professional, honest and ethical character driven to perform and deliver exceptional results
Requirements for the Role
· A current Victorian Working with Children Check.
· A Pre-employment Health Declaration.
