About the Role
As a Leading Hand Boilermaker, you will show up each day with a sense of great pride and commitment to helping ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest quality.
Typical Duties
Lead a crew with the guidance of managers and supervisors.
Assist in the planning of workshop production by providing input to maximise productivity gains and improve efficiencies.
Perform fabrication duties and welding techniques, including GMAW and FCAW, and pass AS****** weld tests where required.
Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Provide training and mentoring to apprentices and production employees.
Act as a key resource for problem solving, offering guidance and support.
Sourcing and providing technical information and advice to staff and operations personnel.
Ensure infrastructure (plant and services, tools and equipment, jigs and fixtures, materials handling, etc.) is checked regularly and kept in good working order.
Ensure all workshop activities are carried out in compliance with ISO****, Bradken policies and procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
Participate in internal and external audits where required.
Assist in the development and installation of capital proposals where required.
To Be Successful In The Role
You will need enthusiasm, passion for strong leadership, and a commitment to safety.
You should champion safety, mentor less experienced staff, and help deliver great results.
A recognised trade qualification is essential (Engineering Fabrication preferred) plus five years' fabrication trade experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of safe working procedures, sound numeric reasoning, strong communication skills, and process improvement techniques are also required.
