**Who we are**
The Shared Services Branch within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) provides corporate enabling services for payroll, Human Resources (HR) system administration, HR helpdesk, financial operations and procurement.
The Payroll, Aurion and HR Help Section works closely with other areas across PM&C and its shared service clients to deliver a high-quality payroll service, Aurion system administration and a helpdesk function.
The Team are highly engaged, experienced and capable with a strong focus on accuracy, service delivery and accountability.
**What you will do**
**Assistant Director - Payroll**
As the Assistant Director, Payroll you will lead a large team responsible for the provision of quality end to end payroll services to the Department and the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). The position is responsible for the following:
- Lead and manage the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services;
- Handle escalations, prepare complex correspondence and provide accurate and timely advice to clients;
- Work closely with colleagues to identify and implement payroll and Aurion system priorities and project activities;
- Ensure appropriate information such as legislation or process changes are communicated and implemented effectively within the team;
- Engage, liaise and negotiate with payroll and HR stakeholders at all levels within the Department, NIAA and external providers;
- Provide advice in relation to highly complex and/or sensitive payroll transactions;
- Manage workloads and monitor the progression and delivery of work priorities;
- Provide supervision, performance management, training and coaching to team members; and
- Routinely review payroll processes and procedures to ensure they remain accurate and contemporary.
**Assistant Director - Aurion System Administrator**
As the Assistant Director, Aurion System Administrator you will lead a small team responsible for the management of the Human Resources Management Information System - Aurion instances for the Department and the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
The position is responsible for the following:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the administration and configuration of Aurion which includes developing and enhancing the system, coordinating all aspects of minor and major upgrades which include the necessary testing and change management activities;
- Handle escalations, prepare complex correspondence and provide accurate and timely advice to clients;
- Work closely with colleagues to identify and implement payroll and Aurion system priorities and project activities;
- Coordinate the execution of the payroll in accordance with agreed timeframes including: processing of the pay run, reconciliation of the pay, disbursement of the pay including the production of creditor reports and costing of the pay;
- Coordinate the establishment and maintenance of appropriate system controls, protocols and procedures for the operation of Aurion;
- Working with IT, support the ongoing maintenance and development of Aurion interfaces with other PM&C Systems;
- Manage workloads and monitor the progression and delivery of work priorities
- Provide supervision, performance management, training and coaching to team members; and
- Routinely review technical Aurion processes and procedures to ensure they remain accurate and contemporary.
