Position Summary
The Pastry Chef is responsible for overseeing the preparation, production, and presentation of all pastries and desserts across Five Sisters Group's operations. This role requires strong organisational skills, consistency in execution, and the ability to adapt production to serve multiple outlets with varying needs and volumes.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Execution
* Prepare and produce pastries, baked goods, and desserts for:
* Daily café service
* Kiosk window offerings
* Restaurant dessert service (open two days per week)
* Ensure consistency in quality, flavor, and presentation across all outlets
* Execute recipes accurately while maintaining efficiency and minimal waste
Menu Development
* Assist with the development of seasonal and rotating pastry and dessert menus
* Collaborate with ownership and kitchen leadership on new concepts and specials
Operations & Organisation
* Manage daily and weekly pastry production schedules
* Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe pastry station
* Assist with inventory management, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Team Collaboration
* Work closely with café, kiosk, and restaurant teams to ensure smooth service
* Communicate clearly regarding production needs and timelines
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Cook in a professional kitchen
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry fundamentals, and dessert plating
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple production needs
* Experience with small-batch and high-quality production preferred
* Strong time management and attention to detail
* Passion for hospitality, food, and creative execution

Pay: $55,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
