Job Summary
The Business Development Representative is responsible for promoting D2L products and services, establishing customer relationships, and providing qualified leads to the Sales teams. The role requires in-depth knowledge of D2L solutions, the competitive landscape, and a strong interest in the eLearning industry. The primary market focus is the education and corporate sectors. The successful candidate will capture and qualify leads, manage a sales pipeline, and work toward quarterly revenue targets.

How You Will Make An Impact
Exceed objectives within your assigned territory
Understand and communicate D2L's value proposition and create solution vision with prospects
Participate in outbound calling campaigns to generate sales opportunities
Capture and qualify leads from tradeshows, webinars, inbound calls, and other marketing initiatives
Follow up with existing D2L contacts and develop them into sales prospects
Distribute leads and arrange qualified appointments for Sales Executives
Monitor and respond to the D2L Sales inbox and website inquiries
Create and update lead generation emails and phone scripts
Update customer interactions in the CRM
Complete sales reports and present findings to executive management
Conduct market research and stay informed on product, industry knowledge, competitors
Represent D2L at occasional tradeshows; some travel required
What You'll Bring To The Role
Interest in pursuing a sales career in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Pro-active and goal-oriented with the ability to maintain activity levels to generate leads and meet quarterly objectives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities
Strong interpersonal and customer orientation with the ability to influence decision makers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Prior experience in eLearning, education sector, enterprise software, or high-tech solutions preferred
AI Skills: experience using AI-powered sales engagement and CRM tools to optimize prospecting and outreach; ability to leverage AI tools to draft emails, perform lead research, and personalize outreach; comfortable interpreting AI-generated insights to prioritize outreach and follow-up; curiosity for tools that improve workflow efficiency, including AI-based solutions
