Weekend Chef Making a Difference at Every Meal
Location: Cundletown, Mid North Coast NSW
Schedule: Every Saturday & Sunday 9:30am to 5:30pm
Status: Permanent Part‐Time
About the Role
We believe that great food is one of life's greatest pleasures, and for our residents it is often the highlight of their day. We are looking for a Weekend Chef who understands that a perfectly poached egg or a beautifully presented roast is an act of care.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead the kitchen during weekends, managing the meal service for lunch and dinner.
* Prepare standard menus alongside specialised textures and dietary requirements with dignity and care.
* Ensure every plate that leaves the pass meets high standards for taste, temperature, and presentation.
* Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety records.
* Work alongside a small, dedicated team to create a calm, efficient service.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
* Have experience in a fast‐paced kitchen; aged care experience is a plus, but a background in hotels, hospitals, or busy cafes is highly valued.
* Be empathetic and patient, prioritising residents' needs and willing to tweak a dish to brighten someone's day.
* Be reliable and embody the "weekend warrior" attitude, keeping operations smooth while weekday management is away.
Why Join Us
* Work‐life balance: no split shifts or late‐night finishes; you'll be home in time for dinner.
* Competitive pay: weekend penalty rates apply.
* Purpose‐driven work: see the immediate impact of your skills on residents' well‐being.
* Modern facilities: work in a clean, well‐equipped, and supportive environment.
As a result of revised standards around health & well‐being in the aged care industry, all applicants must have a current year flu vaccination and undertake a National Criminal History Check.
We encourage First Nations people to consider a career with us.
