Open Arms is within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Services Division of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Open Arms offers military-aware mental health counselling and support. This includes access to individual, couples and family counselling, care coordination, peer support, mental health training and group programs for all current and former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), who have at least one day continuous full time service (CFTS), including those referred under a service agreement with the Department of Defence. Partners and dependents of eligible veterans are also eligible for free, confidential mental health services and support for issues related to their partner/parent's service.
**Duties**
- Undertake line management responsibilities for clinical staff and be responsible for the recruitment, selection, induction, supervision, and performance management of clinical employees to ensure their ability to meet service delivery requirements
- Ensure all clinical work undertaken in the region is conducted in accordance with the governance requirements of Open Arms
- Actively contribute to Open Arms National projects, clinical policies and procedures, research initiatives and Quality Assurance activities as required:
- As a member of the regional leadership group, provide supportive leadership to the region, contribute to the National Management Team, and Deputise and act for the Regional Director as required
**Eligibility**
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen to apply.
- Qualifications as a registered Psychologist / Mental Health Occupational Therapist / Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, OR
- Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance
- Extensive clinical and relevant management experience

A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing and non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.
