About the role
As a Senior Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering complex software solutions for strategic B2B partners using Expedia Group's white label travel platform. You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to translate business requirements into practical technical designs, define scalable solutions, and guide the adoption of new technologies, including AI.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with customers, sales, product, and engineering teams to understand business goals, technical requirements, and solution opportunities.
- Define end‐to‐end software and solution packages that address customer needs by leveraging Expedia Group platform capabilities.
- Design scalable application solutions and services with consideration for architecture, integrations, APIs, data flows, compliance, security, resiliency, operational readiness, and internal and external system requirements.
- Act as a primary technical interface for customers and their engineering teams, building trust and guiding solution direction.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for both technical and non‐technical audiences.
- Support the selection and adoption of the right technology components to solve current customer needs while enabling future growth.
- Use AI to drive innovation and deliver best‐in‐class solutions that strengthen our competitive advantage in the travel market.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in a Software Solution Architect or closely related role designing software‐based technical solutions for customer needs.
- Computer Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- Strong experience solving complex technology problems and explaining them clearly to non‐technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience leading long‐term technical relationships with clients, with a proven record of strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong technical depth in backend software, services, AI, APIs, integrations, and platform‐based architecture.
- Comfortable operating in a senior customer‐facing role and partnering across engineering and cross‐functional teams to move from discovery through implementation.
- Sound judgment to balance customer requirements, platform strategy, simplicity, and long‐term scalability.
- Effective at building trust, collaborating across teams, and driving outcomes in complex environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in AI and its application to software engineering, with a proven ability to define strategy and lead the design, adoption, and scaling of AI‐enabled solutions across complex enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in technical software solution design and consulting or responding to complex partner or customer technical requirements.
- Created detailed system architecture, solution designs, implementation approaches and MVP scope recommendations for customer‐facing software solutions.
- Experience in travel technology, platform businesses, or B2B partner‐facing environments.
- Strong experience with system integrations such as identity, loyalty, reporting, data or other application enablement capabilities.
- Comfortable and experienced in presenting system solutions to both technical and commercial executives and senior leaders.
