ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Head of Learning Area - The Arts is responsible for curriculum delivery to Years 7-12, collaborates with the College's Curriculum Board, and leads a team of teachers across disciplines including Art, Dance, Design, Drama, and Music.
The role involves promoting curricula aligned with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority and the West Australian Curriculum, overseeing assessment policies, monitoring student progress, conducting staff meetings, and managing all aspects of teaching and learning within the Arts department.
The Head of Learning Area also mentors staff, especially new teachers, and maintains high proficiency in their specialist area, including a teaching component.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* Diploma of Education
* Current registration with Teachers Registration Board Western Australia
* Current Working With Children Check
* Willingness to obtain Accreditation for Middle Leaders in Catholic Schools
