We're seeking a strategic and people-focused Risk Assurance leader to step into a leadership role to further establish our Line 2 Risk Assurance function.
As the Senior Leader – Risk Assurance, you'll design and deliver a forward-thinking assurance strategy that strengthens risk and compliance performance across the bank. This is a unique opportunity to shape how assurance is delivered, influence senior stakeholders, and build a high-performing team.
Specifically, you will:
* Design and implement a consistent Line 2 assurance framework, including methodologies and processes across all material risk classes.
* Develop and deliver the annual risk-based Line 2 Risk Assurance Plan, ensuring appropriate coverage across key risk areas.
* Lead, coach and develop Risk Assurance specialists, strengthening capability in assurance methodologies and practices.
* Engage with key stakeholders to provide updates on the assurance plan, issue management and emerging risk insights.
* Report assurance outcomes, themes and insights to Executive Management and Board Committees.
About you
You're a senior Risk Assurance or Internal Audit professional with strong leadership capability and a passion for delivering meaningful assurance outcomes.
Additionally, you'll bring:
* Significant experience in internal audit or risk assurance, including leadership experience within financial services.
* Strong technical knowledge of risk profiling, control effectiveness and assurance methodologies.
* Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex issues clearly.
* A collaborative and commercially minded approach with strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* A commitment to team development, continuous improvement and innovation in assurance.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline in addition to professional accreditation such as CA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent in risk or compliance is essential for this role.
