About this role:
We are seeking a highly skilled State Livestock Manager to lead our team in Victoria and the Riverina regions. As a key member of our livestock sales team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve ambitious targets.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing state and area-specific sales strategies to drive sales activities and maximize profitability.
* BUILDING strong relationships with team members, promoting a culture of high performance and supporting their growth and development.
* Maintaining regular communication with livestock staff, offering guidance and support as needed.
* Maintaining and building strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including clients and meat processors/buyers.
* Identifying business development and growth opportunities across the region, including further avenues to market.
* Leading and managing livestock training programs, ensuring continuous professional growth and development.
* ROLE MODELING and promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
* Supporting key selling centres and staffing requirements.
* Assisting in resolving any claims/disputes which may arise.
* Working closely with State Management team, national and local leaders.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Significant experience in livestock sales and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
* An extensive background in managing, leading and influencing sales teams, coupled with strong client relationship management skills.
* Effective communication skills, along with an understanding of different livestock market trends.
* Expert knowledge of livestock products and safe handling practices.
* Relevant qualifications, including Certificate IV in Front-line Management and Auctioneer license.
* Proficient in using technology and software for sales management and reporting.
