The Careers Department is a SaaS tech platform that services 780 schools nationally.

We are solving the problem that we've all experienced at one point;
"Which career should I chase?"

We work with school and university students, on scale, to inspire them to see what the future of work could look like. This role is responsible for strengthening The Career's Departments presence with key external partners.

The successful candidate will proactively represent The Careers Department brand with industry partners and advertising agencies to help us continue creating great content that is shared with high school and university students.

Location: Surry Hills, Sydney

Type: Full-time

Experience: Ideally 4-5 years in media, agency, digital, sales or PR environments. Sales and agency experience is preferred, as this role requires leveraging existing relationships with external stakeholders.

Revenue and partnership development

Maintain and grow year-on-year revenue by managing existing partnerships and proactively generating new opportunities.

Identify, cultivate, and convert new leads across our audience channels.

Expand our partner portfolio by deepening engagement with agencies and brand contacts.

Maintain and grow a strong pipeline, using the CRM to track and report on revenue potential.

Client management

Serve as a primary front-facing contact for clients and agencies, representing The Careers Department with confidence and clarity.

Deliver an exceptional level of service to partners, managing accounts holistically from proposal through to campaign delivery.

Reporting and Accountability

Provide regular updates to the Head of Business Development on revenue performance, pipeline activity, and partnership growth opportunities.

Ensure accurate documentation of leads, forecasts, and campaign outcomes.

Experience and Relationships

Minimum of 4+ years in media sales, agency account management, or related partnership-driven roles.

Strong, reliable relationships with key stakeholders (agencies and brand partners) within the Sydney and Melbourne media landscape.

Event Management (optional).

Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with a confident pitch presence.

Highly organised with strong strategic thinking and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

A proactive, self-directed operator with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Team player with a positive energy and collaborative mindset

Willingness to travel for work and attend events.

Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in sales/partnerships, demonstrated deal-closing skills, and the ability to negotiate contracts and manage revenue targets.

Solutions-oriented, resilient, and able to navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing industry.
