About the role
We're looking for an experienced Landscape Tradesman to join our dynamic team at Terra Mater Group in Fyshwick, ACT. As a full-time Landscape Tradesman, you'll play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality landscaping construction of jobs across Canberra. This role involves the hands-on construction and installation of landscape features for residential and commercial projects. You will work on tasks ranging from hardscaping, paving, and retaining walls, to planting, irrigation, and general site preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the construction and installation of landscaping projects including concreting, paving, retaining walls, paths, patios, and garden beds.
* Planting trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and maintaining plant health during construction.
* Operate machinery and tools safely (excavators, compactors, saws, etc.).
* Read and interpret landscape plans, drawings, and specifications.
* Prepare and maintain work sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Collaborate with team members and subcontractors to complete projects on schedule.
* Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all tasks.
* Supervising & Training of apprentices
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in landscaping construction or related trade.
* Experience with hardscape construction, concreting, paving, and irrigation systems.
* Knowledge of plants, horticulture, and landscape materials.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
* Relevant trade qualification or Certificate III in Landscaping is preferred.
* White Card and current Driver’s License required.
* Experience operating light machinery is an advantage.
