The Role
St Andrews Lutheran College is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Innovation and Technology Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our workshop and technology spaces. This role is integral to maintaining a safe, organised, and innovative environment for students and staff.
In this role you will oversee state-of-the-art tools, machines, IT equipment and stock while ensuring a safe and inspiring environment. You'll work in a purpose-built facility, alongside a dynamic and supportive team that thrives on creativity and innovation.
Responsibilities
Assist teachers during and after class time with resource preparation and workshop set-up.
Ensure safety for students and staff during workshop class support.
Maintain tools, machines, IT equipment and stock in full working order.
Manage stock, order supplies and keep accurate records.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
Support college events, displays and technology-related activities.
Selection Criteria
Ability to maintain and operate workshop tools, machines and IT equipment safely, including MSDS and electrical tagging.
Organisational skills – stock management, resource preparation and maintaining a clean, safe workshop.
Competence using a personal computer and Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new technologies; experience with CNC machinery and related software.
Ability to assist teachers and support students in practical learning settings, prioritising safety and wellbeing.
Strong communication and teamwork skills; capacity to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with staff, students and parents.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, set priorities and manage tasks under pressure.
Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the College; support the mission and contribute positively to community life.
Requirements
Successful applicants must hold a valid Working with Children Check Blue Card before starting work and have the legal right to work in Australia.
