About The Role

* Provide leadership and support to schools in promoting learning and engagement of young people.
">
* Work collaboratively with school leaders, case management teams, and external agencies to develop and implement strategies that maximize student potential and promote equity and excellence in education.
">
* BUILD RESILIENCE through facilitation of referrals to other allied health professionals, and service and care coordination for the purpose of assisting young persons and their family's wellbeing and mental health.
">
* Provide professional mental health and social welfare assessment and interventions and follow up support of the identified young people and families as required.
">
* Engage in administration tasks, prepare and present papers and reports relating to the role to school and regional leadership team on the progress and outcomes of student engagement.
">

Mandatory Requirements
">
">
* Possession of tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
">
">
Desirable Experience
">
">
* Demonstrated experience in complex case management, multi-disciplinary and leading stakeholder engagement groups in schools.
">
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of social work within a school setting, and/or Child Safety environment.
">
* Experience providing therapeutic support and intervention to young people with complex presentations regarding disability, mental health and complex behavioural concerns as significant barriers to engagement in school.
">
* Supporting families and carers experiencing complex or challenging psychosocial concerns including child protection, domestic and family violence and disrupted attachment/trauma and the impact on education.
