Job Description
As a Senior Mine Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in providing precise spatial information about surface mining operations. Your primary responsibility will be to report to the Technical Services Superintendent.
The key tasks of this position include:
* Supporting geologists with ore-markups and setting out production drill holes ahead of schedule
* Carrying out surveys to determine mine structures and layouts, ensuring their accurate positioning above and below ground
* Conducting drone flights to capture mining surfaces for mine planning purposes
* Performing end-of-month processes for development and stockpile reconciliation
* Regularly conducting drone flights to pick up active mining areas and surroundings
* Maintaining and calibrating surveying equipment to ensure accurate measurements
* Staying updated with the latest surveying technologies and methodologies to enhance the survey process and increase efficiency
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Prior experience as a Surveyor in a mining environment or related field
* A Certificate/Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field
* A valid surveying license/certification as per the regional regulatory body
* Mine Surveyors' Certificate Grade One or Two
* Proficiency in using Deswik or Surpac software
* A positive attitude towards safety and teamwork
* Familiarity with safety regulations and standards in the mining industry
