Our QLD Government client is currently seeking a Data Modeller to create and manage data models and data products within a modern Data Lakehouse environment, that will be used to visualise information and support analytical needs in the various organisational areas within their Department.
As the Data Modeller, you will:
* Design, develop, and maintain data models in dbt for structured, scalable analytics using Data Vault 2.0 methods.
* Create and optimise data products to support business intelligence and analytical needs.
* Build and optimise data pipelines.
* Work closely with data platform engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usability.
* Optimise queries for performance and efficient creation of data products.
* Implement best practices for data quality monitoring and automation.
* Develop and maintain data models, datasets, and data products.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of Data Lakehouse content and supporting processes.
What you'll bring to the role:
* 2+ years of Databricks experience.
* Demonstrated experience in data modelling, analytics engineering, or BI development.
* Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and performance optimisation.
* Proficiency in dbt for data transformation and modelling.
* Experience with Azure and modern data platform technologies.
* Experience with Data Vault 2.0 modelling methods.
* Familiarity with Python for data transformation and scripting.
* Understanding of Data Lakehouse principles and architecture.
* Experience working in Agile teams.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
* Development of Azure Data Factory pipelines, mapping, and wrangling dataflows.
* Excellent communication and team skills.
* Analytical mind with a problem‐solving aptitude.
