Urgently hiring experienced Disability Mental Health Support Workers
About the role:
Are you passionate about improving the lives of those living with mental disorders? Do you have excellent conflict resolution skills and the ability to support others to achieve their goals? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker.
In this role, you will provide 1:1 and 2:1 support to individuals in their own homes and communities, helping them develop the skills and abilities they need to gain independence and complete daily tasks. You will work with individuals to meet their specific needs, according to established behavioral support plans, and help them work towards their individual goals. You will also develop professional relationships with individuals, their families, and others in the community.
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent listening skills and an adaptable communication style. You should be patient, emotionally resilient, and able to advocate for others. You should also have experience in mental health support or working with disadvantaged individuals in the community. Knowledge of trauma and complex behaviors is a plus. You should also be confident in using IT systems across computers and mobile devices.
This position involves working on a 2-weekly rotating roster, which may include active night shifts and weekend work. All staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and meet all compliance requirements, including the NDIS Work Screening, Working With Children's Check, and possession of a current and valid driver's license. While we continue to operate face-to-face services through COVID-19, you will be expected to adhere to all COVID-19 standards, requirements, and processes, including wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining regular hygiene and cleanliness practices.

The successful candidate MUST have:
* Experience working in the disability sector
* Driver's license and own a car
* Qualification (minimum certificate IV in Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care)
* Working With Children Check
* First Aid/CPR certificate
* Flexibility and willingness to work at night time
* Ability to work independently & as part of a team
* Current Police check/certificate
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
