About the role

Join our large and dynamic Occupational Therapy team as an Allied Health Assistant.

The Occupational Therapy department at the Bloomfield Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Service is a friendly and dynamic team which consists of 10 Occupational Therapists, Diversional Therapists, an Education Advisor and 9 Allied Health Assistants. We work as part of a large multidisciplinary team that is committed to providing all consumers with holistic, evidence based care that focuses on patient safety and engagement.

The Allied Health Assistant Position works within the acute and rehabilitation units at Bloomfield Hospital, Mental Health Drug and Alcohol inpatient services. The role will be assisting the allied health professionals based on the units in running groups and the ward program, as well as assisting allied health professionals with individual interventions. The allied health assistant is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and will assist a large and diverse allied health team which includes Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Social Work, Diversional Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dietitians and an Education Officer.

The Allied Health Assistant Position will be managed under the Occupational Therapy department. They will be provided with supervision and education opportunities.
