My client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Shipbuilding team based in Henderson, Western Australia. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Royal Australian Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) program and play a key role in delivering world-class naval assets for a nationally significant defence project.

The Role
As the Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the Non-Conformance (NC) management process, ensuring full compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Administer and manage the Non-Conformance (NC) process across its full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with all quality system requirements
* Track, manage, and facilitate timely closure of NCs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
* Review and validate the accuracy and completeness of NC documentation within quality systems
* Provide technical input into NC investigations and support the development of effective preventative actions to reduce recurrence
* Review Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to support remediation activities and verification of NC close-outs
* Liaise with engineering teams to confirm appropriate and compliant corrective actions
* Maintain accurate records of NC-related OQE within the Quality Management System, ensuring full traceability and governance
* Prepare and present management reports on NC trends, performance metrics, and lifecycle progress
* Monitor and improve quality assurance and control processes to strengthen compliance and operational performance
* Maintain \"Lessons Learnt\" documentation and ensure associated corrective actions are completed
* Analyse NC data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives
* Identify and implement opportunities to enhance quality systems, processes, and overall performance.
About you:
* Industry or VET qualifications aligned to ISO 9001 quality auditing (essential)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in Non-Conformance management, coordination, or quality systems reporting
* Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems within an ISO 9001 environment
* Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate reports
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with quality/compliance management systems
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
* Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence outcomes
Essential Requirements:
* Trade, technical, or engineering background relevant to shipbuilding, defence, or heavy industry
* Formal qualifications in Quality Management Systems
