Geotechnical Risk Management and Slope Stability
Support geotechnical risk management and slope stability through hands-on, supervised field and analytical assignments.
* Assist in collecting and analyzing geotechnical data to inform operational planning within the Integrated Planning team.
* Participate in site inspections and audits to document geotechnical hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
* Maintain and update visual communication tools to display risk information effectively.
* Support rock sampling and testing programs under supervision, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
* Contribute to back-analyzing rockfalls and slope failures using site data, identifying areas for improvement.
* Prepare reports and presentations on geotechnical observations and findings, communicating key insights to stakeholders.
* Engage in safety training, toolbox talks, and ground awareness sessions with site teams, promoting a culture of safety and collaboration.
* Current enrollment in a relevant engineering degree, such as Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Geology.
* Experience with relevant software and systems, preferably through studies or placements, is highly desirable.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
* Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meeting personal and team goals.
* A valid manual driver's license and willingness to live and work remotely.
