Job Overview:
* We are seeking a Health Safety Specialist to develop project Health Safety, Security and Environmental Management Plans.
* The selected candidate will conduct HSS reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining HSS aspects of Project HSE Management Plans.
* Apart from these duties, the role also involves participation in HSS risk management workshops.
* The ideal candidate will support contract owners in meeting HSS requirements.
* In collaboration with SMEs, the selected candidate will support HSS ER requirements.
* Facilitating HSS assurance activities including audits is another key responsibility.
* The chosen individual will assist with hazard and incident management and reporting.
* Preparation and delivery of HSS ER training sessions are also essential parts of the job.
* Maintenance of decommissioning and project operations for compliance is another duty.
* Additionally, the specialist will provide site representation as required.
* Other duties may be assigned by the HSE Manager and HSS Team Lead.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Tertiary qualifications in safety, health or related fields are necessary.
* At least 3 years' experience in offshore oil/gas or high-risk industries is required.
* Knowledge of HSS management systems and WA safety case regimes is crucial.
* Familiarity with Commonwealth, State and Territory HSE legislation is essential.
* Experience in auditing, investigations and incident management is desired.
* Training in Root cause Analysis Investigation (e.g., TapRoot, 5Y) is beneficial.
* Internal/External Auditor training is highly desirable.
* Strong report writing skills are expected.
* Certifications such as TBOSIET, CAEBS and MISC are necessary.
