About the Role
We are a small, focused team, and we are scaling - more people, more customers, and more moving parts every month. As we grow, we need someone to keep the engine room running so the rest of the team can do their best work.
We are looking for an Office Manager to run our Sydney office and own the operational and financial backbone of the company. This is a broad, hands-on role. You will keep the books in order, keep the office humming, and be the person who makes sure the small things that keep a growing team productive never fall through the cracks.
You will own day-to-day bookkeeping - invoices, expenses, payroll support, and reconciliations - working alongside our external accountant. You will run the office itself, and you will support a growing team through onboarding, the rhythm of the week, and the culture that makes a small company a good place to work.
This is a role for someone who is exceptionally organised, genuinely enjoys making things run smoothly, and is comfortable wearing several hats at once. You will work closely with the founders and have real ownership over how we operate as we scale.
Responsibilities
* Own day-to-day bookkeeping - accounts payable and receivable, expense management, reconciliations, and payroll support - working with our external accountant
* Manage financial administration: invoicing, supplier payments, expense tracking, and keeping records accurate and audit-ready
* Run the Sydney office - facilities, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships
* Support a growing team: onboard new starters, coordinate equipment and access, and be the go-to for day-to-day questions
* Organise team events, offsites, and the rituals that build culture as we grow
* Support the founders with scheduling, travel, and operational administration
* Keep internal processes, tools, and documentation organised as the company scales
* Help with people and HR administration - records, contracts, and onboarding logistics
You May Be a Good Fit If You
* Have 3+ years in office management, operations, or a similar hands-on role at a growing company
* Have solid bookkeeping experience and are comfortable with accounting software such as Xero or MYOB
* Are exceptionally organised and reliable - things do not slip through the cracks on your watch
* Can juggle multiple responsibilities and shifting priorities without losing the plot
* Are a clear, warm communicator who people naturally go to for help
* Are based in Sydney and happy to be in the office, since this role is the heart of it
* Take genuine pride in making an organisation run well
Strong Candidates May Also Have
* Experience as an early operations or office hire at a startup or scale-up
* A bookkeeping qualification or formal accounting or payroll training
* Experience with people operations, HR administration, or recruitment coordination
* Experience setting up or improving operational processes and tools from scratch
