Job Description:
This is a critical position within our Portfolio Implementation team, responsible for supporting UniSuper's investment strategy by ensuring accurate, timely, and integrated data flows that drive superior investment insights and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Shape and evolve the investment data operating model, leveraging strategic partners and vendors.
* Configure and maintain analytics data feeds; develop business intelligence reporting to enable superior investment insights.
* Resolve operational issues, clarify data requirements, implement system changes, and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
* Promote data quality and governance through validation routines and clear documentation.
* Develop dashboards and reports to monitor exposure, investment performance, liquidity management, and market trends.
* Support automation and optimisation of data flows by configuring integrations and exploring scripting solutions (ETL/ELT, batch/real-time).
Requirements:
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Sound knowledge of investment markets and financial securities across multi-asset classes.
* In-depth understanding of investment management principles (NAV, performance, exposure, risk, liquidity, etc.).
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline; CFA designation or progress towards CFA is highly regarded.
* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to support complex investment processes.
* Proven experience working with investment data within a multi-asset class environment, such as an investment manager or superannuation fund.
* Technical proficiency with platforms and vendors such as Bloomberg (datasets, feeds, API, B-Pipe), FactSet (PA, RBICS, data feeds, symbology), NeoXam or comparable EDM/IBOR platforms, and market data vendors (MSCI, FTSE, S&P Global, including ESG data).
* Programming and data engineering skills in Python (automation, ETL scripts, validation checks) and SQL (complex queries, performance tuning).
* Experience with Power BI (data modelling, DAX, visuals), APIs, data pipelines, and documenting data lineage or data models.
* Experience with change management, UAT, and system enhancement cycles.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
