National Corporate Accounts & Distributor Manager
Private Hospital Groups | Medical Devices | Strategic Growth
A global surgical device manufacturer with a broad, high-quality portfolio across instrumentation, electrosurgery, minimally invasive technologies and consumables is seeking a commercially astute leader to drive national growth.
This is a senior, relationship-led medical device role.
We are specifically looking for someone with:
* Proven success managing Private Hospital Group agreements
* The ability to build and influence at corporate and executive level
This position will suit someone who thrives in complex healthcare environments and understands that long-term revenue growth comes from strategic partnerships — not transactional selling.
The Role You will take ownership of
* National distributor strategy and performance
* Corporate Private Hospital Group contracts
* Long-term commercial growth planning
* Alignment of sales and marketing initiatives across the channel
You will operate at a senior stakeholder level across procurement, executive leadership and distributor principals, ensuring strong commercial alignment and sustained revenue expansion.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
This is not a territory sales position. It requires:
* A strong track record in hospital-based medical device sales (minimum 5+ years)
* Demonstrated experience leading and growing distributor partnerships
* Confidence in negotiating and managing complex corporate agreements
* Exceptional relationship-building capability
* Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy
* Strategic thinking with disciplined execution
Candidates without genuine distributor management experience in medical devices are unlikely to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and strengthen national distributor partnerships
* Negotiate, manage and optimise distribution agreements
* Drive accountability and performance across distributor networks
* Identify new growth opportunities within existing channels
Corporate Account Management
* Manage and expand Private Hospital Group contracts
* Lead contract negotiations, renewals and commercial discussions
* Maintain executive-level relationships within key hospital groups
Strategic Sales Growth
* Deliver sales performance across surgical instrumentation and consumables
* Develop territory and national growth plans aligned with business objectives
* Identify and successfully position new product opportunities
Forecasting & Planning
* Own demand forecasting and territory planning
* Maintain disciplined CRM management (Salesforce preferred)
* Prioritise activity based on commercial impact
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner with sales, marketing and leadership teams to ensure cohesive market execution
Experience & Capability Required
* Minimum 5+ years' medical device sales experience within hospitals
* Strong exposure to the Australian Private Hospital system
* Proven distributor management experience at national level
* Demonstrated success selling surgical or hospital-based medical products
* Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills
* Solutions-focused sales mindset
* Intermediate CRM and Microsoft Office capability
A clinical background or deep product expertise within surgical portfolios will be highly regarded.
