Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for a Head of Finance to join our Buildings (SIB) business unit in Australia, to lead, manage, and oversee all the finance, accounting, and business administration activities.
The successful candidate will act as a financial advisor and business partner to the Head of Buildings Australia and will report to the Head of Finance for Smart Infrastructure Australia and the Smart Infrastructure Buildings CFO. They will have full P&L responsibility, management of all direct reports within the Buildings finance function, and will play a key leadership role in delivering the business unit's growth strategy and commercial performance targets.
The Head of Finance acts as a business partner to the Head of Smart Infrastructure Buildings (SIB) Australia and is responsible for the financial performance of the business unit, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. As a strong commercial leader, you will develop long- and short-term business/financial strategies that will grow the business in line with the global SIB targets and expectations. You will ensure and that all relevant commercial aspects (pricing, costing, hourly rate, proactive risk management, claims, etc.) are considered in all entrepreneurial decisions, across bids, project execution and service business (lifecycle).
The Head of Finance is responsible for performance measurement, early warning, and risk management as well as planning, forecasting, and reporting for SIB Australia. You will initiate, drive, implement, and monitor productivity programs to continuously improve profitability and competitiveness through harmonization, optimization and digitalization (robotics), building a best-in-class financial processes and a strong control environment, ensuring compliance with external and internal accounting and reporting guidelines.
You will also act as company representative and liaison to customers and local authorities building and maintaining successful relationships to sustain positive Siemens/SIB image, driving consistent and sustainable transformation to ensure long-term sustainability of the organization. Making people development, succession planning and diversity a top priority in the organization
To be considered for this opportunity it is likely that you will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, with several years of experience in managing a business with P&L responsibility. Excellent commercial, oral, and written communication skills; and the ability to demonstrate presentation skills and adjust communication to your audience are a must, along with the ability to understand and articulate information to multiple collaborators in a fast paced and often dynamic work environment. A rich experience in both project / system and product business, covering bidding / offering/contracting / execution / warranty / close phases, and high level of business experience and acumen. Being proficient in Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Tax, Closing, Auditing, Controlling and Performance Management topics is key, as is a profound understanding of IFRS, internal business processes, different business models and cross border activities is essential.
