Job Overview
This senior occupational therapist role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to cover a diverse caseload. The ideal candidate will have experience in paediatrics and be able to work with minimal supervision, collaborating effectively as part of a cohesive unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Adult home visiting, equipment prescription and community outreach services are essential components of this role.
* A minimal acute caseload is anticipated, with approximately one referral per month.
* The child development caseload will consist of assessments and treatments for children aged 0-18 years, including early intervention, kindergarten and school age fine motor, sensory and handwriting skills, as well as assessments for NDIS and referrals to relevant authorities.
* Basic hand therapy and splinting skills will be required, with support available for telehealth consultations.
* Outreach to Aboriginal communities once a month is also an integral part of this role.
Working Environment
The team consists of speech pathologists, physiotherapists, allied health assistants, social workers, dietitians, podiatrists and school and child health nurses. Subsidised accommodation is available, along with some assistance for relocation.
