About the Role
As Director, Trade and Investment, you will play a key role in advancing NSW's economic growth by facilitating opportunities and strengthening relationships with government, business, and institutional stakeholders. The Greater China region is a critical market for NSW, offering opportunities across multiple sectors. This position combines strategic planning with operational delivery, ensuring NSW's priorities are executed effectively and partnerships are nurtured to deliver tangible outcomes.
In this role, you will lead initiatives that promote NSW's economic credentials, identify opportunities for investment, and support trade activities that align with government priorities. You will represent NSW at trade shows, business forums, and official programs, while building and maintaining networks with government agencies, industry bodies, and business leaders. Your ability to provide market insights and navigate complex international environments will be critical to success.
You will join the Trade and International Branch within Investment NSW, part of the Premier's Department, and report to the Deputy Trade & Investment Commissioner, China in Shanghai.

We're Looking For
* Trade and Investment Experience: ideally within state government or related agencies.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Proven skills and ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Market Expertise: Knowledge of international markets and experience navigating complex environments.
* Communication: Outstanding communication skills to profile NSW's economic and business credentials.
