Responsibilities
* Lead complex engineering solutions across large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants and pump stations (≥500 L/s).
* Take ownership of mechanical design and commissioning, select and specify equipment, optimise processes, support construction, and manage risk in line with WHS and industry standards.
* Guide teams through every project phase from planning to operational handover.
* Provide expert oversight on mechanical design and installation, and contribute to bids and tenders by reviewing documentation and refining cost estimates.
* Collaborate with procurement teams to define scopes and engage vendors.
* Build strong client relationships and act as a key technical contact.
* Mentor junior engineers, drive continuous improvement and champion innovation to ensure successful project outcomes.
About You
* Chartered Professional Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or a related discipline).
* Proven leadership in mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment projects.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, familiar with digital engineering platforms such as BIM and Revit.
* Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities.
* Excellent technical writing and organisational skills, and a genuine passion for mentoring and team development.
