Capability Support is a provider of services to people living in the community. Capability was founded on the premise that we can do better for people living with disability, children, youth and families in the community, by providing flexible, personalised, high quality and professional supports.
Capability provides Therapeutic Contact and Transport, Early Intervention Supports, Alternate Care / Residential Type, Therapeutic Supports and Respite to Children and Young People with varied needs, including some with behaviours that present as complex. We are recruiting a Family Support Services Manager to oversee and develop support programs to Children and Young People. Capability operates under Therapeutic Models and in conjunction with community partners to deliver high quality, evidence-based supports.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:
Capability's Family Support Services Managers oversee the delivery of evidence-based trauma informed support, supervision and management of Therapeutic Staff Members and Operational Support Officers.
As a Family Support Services Manager, you will be expected to:
* Oversee the delivery of trauma-informed support that achieves positive outcomes for young people and their families;
* Coordinate the daily care and support of children and young people.
* Collaborate with our Therapeutic Team, Quality team and Practice Team and our industry partners, to deliver best practice support for Children and Young People.
* Develop support plans, risk assessments and case plans in accordance with advice from practitioners.
* Work within the guidelines of our evidence based Therapeutic Frameworks.
* Manage the performance, development and supervision of frontline therapeutic staff members.
* Participate and lead team planning, review and development for Children and Young People supported by Capability
* Participate in case reviews and care teams to ensure that young people receive services to meet their requirements
* Communication with Child and Youth Protection Services (CYPS) and Department of Community and Justice (DCJ)
* Adhering to available practice standards, guidance, legislation and support methodology
* Incident investigation, reportable conduct investigations and actioning Incidents.
* Ensuring timely reports to Child and Youth Protection Services in relation to Child Concerns.
Required Skills
Our Family Support Services Managers are active and involved in Children and Young Peoples' lives, including management of multiple stakeholders and staff members. The skills required to undertake the role include, but are not limited to:
* Ability to coordinate and schedule staff members
* Exceptional ability to lead and communicate with Staff Members
* Demonstrated experience working in complex multidisciplinary teams
* High level of responsiveness, excited to develop new and innovative ways to support Children and Young People
* Demonstrated high level communication skills, written and verbal
* High level problem solving skills with the ability to think and respond quickly to arising situations
* Ability to handle matters confidentially and in the interest of Children and Young People.
Job Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in social work, management or another relevant field (desired - though not necessary)
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex and diverse teams.
* Demonstrated understanding of the statutory care system (desired - not necessary)
* Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
* Valid police check or willingness to undertake one.
* Valid CYF Suitability Check or willingness to undertake one.
* Valid first aid/CPR.
* Drivers’ license.
* Comprehensive car insurance with available and registered vehicle.
