About The Role

The Centre Manager will provide leadership and develop effective collaborative partnerships to establish, implement & evaluate integrated and easily accessible enhanced primary care services for young people (12-25 years) and their family and friends. This will include managing a co-located integrated multi-disciplinary teams who are involved in the early detection and intervention of mental health problems and substance use disorders; community awareness programs, education and training activities; and programs for social recovery and economic participation. The Centre Manager will ensure compliance Samaritans as the lead agency for headspace Maitland and headspace Cessnock comply with the grant agreement with Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECCPHN) funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing under the Youth Mental Health Initiative Program.

Essential Criteria

Tertiary Qualifications in a mental health profession (including accreditation with the appropriate professional body) Demonstrated experience in the management of a health or community service, including effectively identifying, planning, organising and allocating resources (time, financial, human, materials, facilities) Excellent leadership qualities with demonstrated experience in supporting and developing health/community service executives Experience in complex programme management, including planning of programmes, identifying goals, associated tasks and timelines, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and associated administration/organisation Information management and technology skills including, experience in the use of electronic client/customer management systems, ability to use a desktop computer, familiarity with the Microsoft Windows environment and Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated communication skills of a high order, including the ability to negotiate and develop effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders Proven ability to think conceptually, analyse complex issues, develop innovative solutions within organisational constraints combined with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to meet deadlines without direct supervision. Demonstrated experience in strength based and clinical supervision of staff, coupled with effective leadership skills Understanding of the Australian health care system and key issues in primary health care

The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, First aid & CPR certificate, and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
