Position Summary
Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Staff Specialist in Respiratory Medicine to join the Respiratory and Sleep Unit at Townsville University Hospital. This permanent full-time role offers a broad and diverse clinical caseload within a busy tertiary service, with opportunities to contribute to teaching, research, and service development.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist respiratory care across inpatient, outpatient, and outreach settings
* Deliver expert clinical consultation within a multidisciplinary environment
* Contribute to clinical leadership, service development, and supervision of junior medical staff
* Participate in quality improvement, audit, and service planning initiatives
* Support teaching, training, and research within the unit
Requirements
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent
* Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA
* Demonstrated experience in respiratory medicine
* Commitment to teaching, research, and ongoing professional development
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
