Your role
This role is a full-time position, working 42.5 hours per week, including one Saturday shift weekly.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the role requires the candidate to be physically fit and able to conduct adequate physical labour.
You will be strong in giving instruction and delegation, along with following instruction from senior management.
The successful candidate will be a team player with strong communication and a people-focused management style.
Responsibilities
Managing daily operations within processing warehouse.
Lead, motivate and manage staff independently.
Oversee machinery, staffing and processes.
Ensure all job tasks and orders are completed in a timely manner, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency.
Coordinate with Operations Manager surrounding general processing duties.
Receipt, sorting, handling of fish, seafood and marine products.
Check off goods received, weighing, record keeping and storage of product.
Cleaning and sanitising of tools, equipment and machinery.
Work environment
Work is primarily conducted within a warehouse environment which can be wet, cold and / or noisy.
Experience, qualifications & personal attributes
Previous experience managing medium-sized teams within a warehouse environment.
Strong communication and delegation skills.
Ability to organise, prioritise, multitask, be flexible and meet deadlines.
Work well with others and be a team player.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Experience in seafood processing.
Understanding of food-safe practices.
