About the Role
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking a skilled, trade-qualified carpenter to join our in-house Property and Facilities team at our Spring Hill campus.
The Property and Facilities Department supports the School through a wide range of activities, including refurbishment projects, construction of new buildings, landscaping, general maintenance, cleaning, waste management, and security.
This is a hands-on role offering a wide variety of work.
You will be part of a supportive team that takes pride in ensuring the School's properties, facilities, buildings, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standard.
As the Carpenter, you will carry out day-to-day maintenance, installations, refurbishments, and minor construction works across the School's campuses.
About You
You are a practical, experienced tradesperson who enjoys varied work and takes pride in quality workmanship.
Proven experience in carpentry installations, building maintenance, refurbishments, and minor construction works
Ability to read and work from drawings, plans, and technical documentation
Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise jobs and meet deadlines
A practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to recommend solutions
A strong safety mindset and sound understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements
Flexibility to adjust start and finish times when needed
Physical capability to carry out hands-on maintenance and manual handling tasks
Essential Requirements
Trade qualification in carpentry
Current Queensland Class C Driver Licence
General Construction Induction (White Card)
Ability to obtain and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (also known as a Blue Card)
