Austal is Australia's global shipbuilder and Defence prime contractor, delivering naval shipbuilding and sustainment programmes for the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Border Force and the Department of Defence. We are negotiating a landmark Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) that will support the delivery of new defence projects, including Landing Craft‐Medium and Landing Craft‐Heavy for the Australian Army, and enable vessel design and construction at our Henderson shipyard.
Role
Reporting to the Transformation Change Manager, the Change Management Specialist is a key role within the Business Transformation function. The specialist delivers change‐management services across projects and initiatives tied to the ADSA Transformation Programme, focusing on identifying and managing change impacts and people risks across a multiyear programme of work.
Responsibilities
* Lead change management activities for projects and initiatives within the ADSA Transformation Programme, ensuring changes are prioritised and executed.
* Manage a portfolio of SSA projects, providing fit‐for‐purpose change‐management advisory and hands‐on support at varying levels.
* Identify, plan and implement change management requirements to achieve successful project outcomes.
* Collaborate with Project Managers, Program Managers, Sponsors and key stakeholders to develop and implement effective change‐management plans.
* Develop and maintain detailed change artefacts, work plans and schedules to ensure timely delivery of change initiatives.
* Apply and utilise Austal's Change Management Framework, processes, tools and activities.
* Support the leader‐led change capability development for Austal's people leaders, change champions, Project Managers and other stakeholders.
* Enhance organisational change capability through coaching and mentoring initiatives.
* Ensure governance and compliance with ADSA reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Terration‐level qualification in a relevant field (Management, Organisational Development or Communications).
* Change Management certification at practitioner level or higher (Prosci or similar).
* Minimum 5+ years of experience leading and managing digital change initiatives within complex organisational environments.
* Experience designing and implementing fit‐for‐purpose change‐management practices, methodologies, tools and processes.
* Demonstrated experience in change impact and complexity assessments, mapping change requirements and delivering sustainable change in a long‐term setting.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability and commitment to building strong working relationships.
* Experience working in fast and complex organisational environments.
