Busways is seeking a highly experienced Mechanic to lead a team on a daily basis and support innovative practices in fleet maintenance. Location: Kincumber Depot. 
Role Responsibilities 
- Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, assembling the fleet and ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times. 
- Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines. 
- Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures. 
- Attend breakdowns and carry out field related mechanical repairs. 
- Communicate safety or maintenance issues effectively and efficiently. 
- Adhere to Work, Health & Safety requirements while performing duties. 
- Maintain clean workshop practices. 
- Report and repair all accident damage as required. 
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed. 
Qualifications 
- Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential. 
- Certificate III in commercial vehicle mechanical technology or above; or equivalent with 4–5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role would be highly regarded. 
- Experience in service and maintenance of vehicles (training provided). 
- Adherence to WHS regulations and company policies; strong verbal and written communication skills. 
- Experience working in a team on daily maintenance and repair schedules; proactive approach with drive for continuous improvement. 
- Physically fit and willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check and Working with Children check. 
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or unrestricted working rights; current unrestricted Australian drivers licence. 
Highly Regarded But Not Necessary 
- Medium Rigid (MR) or above Australian driver’s licence. 
- Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience (training provided). 
Benefits 
- Earning Potential: $100,000+ including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances (excluding super). 
- Hourly rate: $35.38 - $42.44 per hour, depending on skills and experience. 
- Tool Allowance: $17.90 payable weekly. 
- Attendance Allowance: $32 payable on rostered worked hours. 
- Annual Leave loading: 17.5%. 
- Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 (T&C; apply). 
- Ongoing Training and Development: In-house Heavy Vehicle Brake courses by a registered TAFE teacher. 
- Exposure to Advanced Technologies: Work on a range of vehicles, including Euro 5 & 6 technologies.
