Wimba Primary School – Classroom Teacher (Year 0-6)
Wimba Primary School opened its doors in January 2024 in Tarneit. The school has over 420 students and values a safe, inclusive learning environment guided by the core values of Community, Excellence, Integrity and Happiness. The Foundation to Year 6 curriculum is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, offering specialist programs in Physical Education, Music, STEM and Visual Arts, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and personalised learning. The school also provides accredited Out of School Hours Care (OSHC).
Role Summary
As a classroom teacher, you will plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality learning experiences for students in Year 0-6. You will engage in reflective practice, mentor peers, analyse student data and support school policy and initiatives, including participation in parent meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions, and other supervisory duties as directed by the Principal.
Who May Apply
Teachers registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach the specified curriculum areas.
Responsibilities
* Direct teaching of student groups and individual students.
* Develop, implement and evaluate curriculum programmes.
* Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
* Engage in non‑teaching supervisory duties as required by the Principal.
Qualifications & Experience
* Knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and ability to integrate literacy and numeracy across subjects.
* Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies guided by evidence of student learning.
* Experience monitoring, assessing and using student data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
* Commitment to the Department values and continuous professional learning.
* Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching; additional postgraduate credentials as applicable.
