Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, delivering a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions. Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation and surgery.
Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse Educator you will provide leadership, education and clinical support to nursing staff. You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high‐quality education and training programs that promote professional development and ensure best‐practice standards are met. Your role involves developing, implementing and evaluating clinical education programs, facilitating orientation and ongoing training, conducting competency assessments, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. You will also contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures and educational frameworks aligned with NSW Health standards.
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Post‐graduate qualification in Education or a Clinical Specialty (or working towards).
- Extensive clinical experience in Day Surgery, Pre‐Admission, Clinical Screening or Perioperative environments.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver education programmes.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including consultative collaboration.
- Experience in clinical teaching, mentoring and preceptorship.
- Capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to working with NUM to establish and maintain a learning workplace that values continuous improvement and evidence‐based practice.
