About the role
Reporting to the NSW Operations Manager, the Branch Manager plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the business. This is a varied, hands‐on, newly created role where you will be managing a small team in the ferrous yard.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and coordinating the logistics, administration and customer service of the branch.
* Managing daily operations and people leadership.
* Employee management and leading performance reviews.
* Contributing to ongoing process improvements.
* Communicating regularly with the state trading team on sales management and planning.
* Managing KPIs of the branch.
* Ensuring the yard operates in adherence with site safety policies and procedures.
* Coordinating and processing scrap.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a safety‐oriented leader with high energy, strong problem‐solving skills, conceptual thinking, and a customer‐focused approach. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building relationships and driving operational improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
* Leadership experience, ideally within recycling, manufacturing or heavy industry.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a small but diverse team and manage performance.
* Comfortable working autonomously.
* Business acumen and P&L knowledge.
* Trading or sales experience (desirable).
* Strong communication skills to interpret reports, identify trends and make recommendations.
