Classics and Ancient History Position
The University of Adelaide has a long-standing tradition in Classics and Ancient History, dating back to 1874 when a Hughes Chair in Classics was established.
This appointment aligns with our emphasis on the socio-cultural history of the Greek and Roman worlds, offering opportunities for research and teaching in this field.
The successful candidate will primarily contribute to courses in Classical Studies, including undergraduate and graduate programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach courses in Ancient History and/or Classical Studies at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
* Contribute positively to the academic environment of the School of Humanities and the Archaeology and Classical Studies program.
* Work collaboratively within academic teams to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
* PhD in Ancient Greek or Roman History, focusing on cultural or social history.
* Experience in coordinating and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Ancient History and/or Classical Studies.
* Strong research record with high-quality publications and the ability to attract external research funding.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
