We're looking for an experienced Principal Aerospace Mechanical & Structures Engineer to lead engineering delivery for the CH-47F Chinook and AH-64E Apache sustainment programs - a role that puts you at the heart of high-tempo, safety-critical defence capability.

Your mission (key responsibilities)
* Lead and manage engineering activities for sustainment technical support, modification and repair design, and production support for Chinook and Apache fleets.
* Act as the principal technical authority - set standards, solve complex structural and mechanical problems, and ensure continuing airworthiness.
* Partner with Project Managers and the Chief Engineer to deliver projects on time, on budget and to the highest safety and quality standards.
* Be the customer's trusted technical interface - translate requirements, present engineering status and deliverable outcomes.
* Mentor and grow junior engineers and technical officers - build capability across the team.
* Provide surge engineering support across other rotorcraft and fixed-wing sustainment programs when needed.
What you need to be considered:
* Bachelor of Engineering (Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical or related) - Engineers Australia membership or ability to obtain (RPEQ and/or CPEng desirable).
* Solid track record as a senior engineer in aircraft mechanical/structural systems - troubleshooting, repairs, design and in-service support.
* Demonstrated technical leadership in project environments - able to juggle priorities, meet schedules and lead teams.
* Strong grasp of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management.
* Experience with Change Management processes and producing Project & Systems Engineering artefacts.
* Experience authoring engineering artefacts under safety regulation (e.g., Defence Aviation Safety Regulation - DASR).
* Rotorcraft experience is a strong advantage.
* Outstanding communicator who thrives in a multi-discipline environment.
