The company is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join a collaborative team in Perth. The role involves working with established Java web applications, pure Java backend services, and Oracle PL/SQL programs.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring assigned applications run smoothly, understanding their integration, delivering enhancements, and taking on new projects over time. You will also assist the team in implementing AI chat assistants and chatbots to enhance user experience and workflows.
You will be part of a five-member development team, working closely with the CIO. The environment is easy-going, supportive, and flexible, with a strong emphasis on quality and learning. This is a full-time, office-based position in Perth, with occasional flexibility available.
Requirements
* At least five years of commercial experience as a software developer
* Strong Java skills, including JSF experience of at least five years
* Practical experience building and consuming REST APIs
* Oracle PL/SQL experience of at least five years
* Proven experience working with databases in Oracle environments
* Ability to collaborate effectively in a small team and contribute to shared codebases
* A proactive mindset and capacity for independent learning
* Exposure to Azure is preferred but not essential
Preferred Skills
* Oracle APEX experience of one year or more
* Experience with AI in production, such as building a chatbot or chat assistant
* Willingness to maintain a small COBOL application when necessary
* Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure or OCI
* Experience with reporting tools like Crystal Reports or APEX Office Print
