Role Summary
As a Disability Support Worker, you will support clients within the NDIS framework to achieve their goals, build independence, and increase community participation. You will assist people with disability and/or psychosocial needs with daily living activities while promoting positive behaviours, skill development, and meaningful learning experiences.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Supporting clients to attend social outings, community activities, shopping trips, and medical appointments.
* Assisting clients in their homes with personal care and activities of daily living, including toileting, showering, and dressing.
* Providing light domestic assistance, meal preparation, and eating support.
* Administering medication in line with care plans and organisational procedures.
* Liaising with clients' families, carers, and representatives as required.
This role is being hired on a permanent part-time basis and works across Waikiki and surrounding suburbs. We are seeking candidates with strong and flexible availability!
Skills, Attributes and Experience
The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering person-centred care that respects each client's choices, goals, and independence. You will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build meaningful and lasting relationships, and a positive, team-focused approach to supporting clients within the home and community setting.
Key Criteria:
* Must possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and WA Working with Children Check
* Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
* Proof of working rights (passport or valid visa)
* Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviours is highly desirable
