Position Overview
Principal Project Officer (Fixed term, full‐time, July 2026 – March 2029) – Branch: Delivery and Maintenance, Division: Infrastructure, Location: East Perth. Salary: Level 7, $139,860 – $149,485 per annum (pro‐rata).
Responsibilities
Implement the capital works program and associated projects, minor works and maintenance, capital resource sharing and matters relating to school facilities. Coordinate and contribute to the development and implementation of projects, including research, analysis and development of capital works programs and projects for school facilities. Support specific projects such as the review of the primary school brief, secondary school planning guide and the development of the new East Perth Primary School. Engage in effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate with school staff and communities regarding priority needs, feasibility studies and budgets. Mentor and lead a small team, consult, collaborate, and negotiate for effective deployment of resources, finance and information. Research, develop and implement financial management training programs and resources for departmental staff, and maintain communication links with specialist knowledge.
