Job DescriptionLeading Hand – Grounds Maintenance | Full Time | WaggaWe are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Grounds Maintenance professional to join our team in Wagga.
In this full-time role, you'll be responsible for leading a small crew and overseeing the day-to-day delivery of Land Management services.This is a hands-on leadership role, offering an excellent work-life balance with a Monday to Friday roster, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting Defence operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate a small grounds maintenance crewManage daily work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely and quality service deliveryLiaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure expectations are metMaintain accurate records of work completed and report progress to supervisorsOperate and oversee the safe use of grounds maintenance equipment and machineryEnsure team compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards and Spotless/Defence policiesMentor team members and support on-the-job trainingParticipate in hands-on tasks, including:MowingBrush cuttingEdgingPruningGeneral gardeningGreen waste removalWeed, pest, and disease controlAbout YouDemonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or similar supervisory role, preferably in grounds or facilities maintenanceStrong leadership and communication skills – both verbal and writtenExperience in coordinating teams and delivering work programsCommitment to safety, quality, and client satisfactionAustralian Citizenship (required for Defence site access)Valid Open Class Driver's Licence and reliable vehicleDesirable Licences & CertificationsMedium Rigid Truck LicenceChainsaw Cross-Cut TicketChemCert CertificationAsbestos Awareness CertificateAgricultural Chemical Distribution Control LicencePosition Description available upon request.Pre-Employment RequirementsSuccessful candidates will be required to:Undergo a pre-employment medicalProvide a current National Police ClearanceHow To ApplyReady to step into a leadership role?
