In this role, you'll:
1. Perform maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools.
2. Undertake road maintenance activities which may include, but not limited to, pavement repairs, road corridor maintenance, road pavement rehabilitation, and small and heavy patching works.
3. Participate in regular toolbox talks that focus on continuous improvement in Workplace Health and Safety.
4. Travel extensively throughout the region to attend worksites including call outs where required.
We have several permanent and fixed-term positions available to support our project requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain further experience in a civil environment where you will work with an experienced team that provides vital maintenance work to our roads and highways, benefiting the regional community.
You are a team-oriented worker with an eye for detail, accustomed to working in similar environments. You are a practical thinker, quick learner, and great communicator who enjoys being physically active, performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting.
You must hold the following tickets/licenses:
- White Card
- Traffic Control Tickets (implement Traffic Control Plan / Workers On Foot) - preferred but not essential, as training will be provided within the first 3 months of employment
You will live within a 50 km radius of the Hay Works Centre and are prepared to work outside normal hours, attend callouts, and work away from home when needed.
A Truck Licence, class Medium Rigid (MR) or higher, chemical spray ticket, and working safely under Power Lines will be beneficial but not essential.
