The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in maintaining the efficiency and consistency of our kitchen operations.


Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our culinary team as a Sous Chef. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and expertise in food preparation, presentation, and kitchen management.

As the second-in-command, you will assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities. You will supervise and coordinate the kitchen team during food preparation and service, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.

You will be responsible for monitoring kitchen operations to maintain food quality, freshness, and consistency. This includes training, mentoring, and developing junior kitchen staff, as well as ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.

In addition, you will manage kitchen inventory and food cost control, participate in menu development and costings, and handle kitchen scheduling, stock ordering, and supplier communication in the Executive Chef's absence.

You will also ensure a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace, addressing and resolving any kitchen or food-related issues promptly.


Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities.
* Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team during food preparation and service.
* Ensure dishes are prepared and presented to hotel standards.
* Monitor kitchen operations to maintain food quality, freshness, and consistency.
* Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff.

* Manage kitchen inventory and food cost control.
* Participate in menu development and costings.
* Handle kitchen scheduling, stock ordering, and supplier communication.


Qualifications

* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a hotel or high-volume kitchen.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
* In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
* Passion for high-quality cuisine and customer satisfaction.
