You're proactive, confident in engaging with executives, and have the ability to balance risk with practical solutions. Ideally, you have experience in legal, compliance, or governance functions within a large or complex organisation, and you're motivated by the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
About the role
In this position, you will take ownership of the organisation's privacy framework, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting best practice across the business. Key responsibilities will include:
* Providing expert advice on privacy obligations under State and Federal legislation.
* Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and frameworks to manage privacy risks.
* Overseeing privacy breaches, investigations, and notifiable data breaches.
* Coordinating responses to information requests from regulators and stakeholders.
* Delivering training and resources to improve organisational awareness of privacy.
* Advising on projects and business initiatives through Privacy Impact Assessments.
* Maintaining registers and supporting governance reporting.
This is a key role within the Legal and Governance team, working closely with senior stakeholders to safeguard the organisation's reputation and ensure robust privacy practices.
